About Me and the site

I spend most of my days building and working with websites, and am happy to work with websites that are built with most web languages and frameworks. Which are deployed on a very wide range of hosting providers, DNS providers and domain registers. Which over the years has helped give me a knowledge base for solving issues and getting website projects started quickly.

I have been very focused over the last year with Static Websites that are enabled by API's and mostly hosted with support for a CDN on Modern Static Hosting providers. Along with the range of options we now have to edit and work from within the web browser using GitHub web editor, GitHub Codespaces and the daily growing list of tools.

Working in the Cloud

This type of in browser tooling has many labels, a common one seems to be Cloud Developments Environments (CDE). I think these products are going to keep growing throughout 2025 with extra features along with more involved workflows.

The ability to open a browser tab and you are ready to code, is just a great workflow for anyone getting started, or for someone that just wants to complete a task. vscode.dev allows you to open or save local files (Using the File System Access API) or from a Git repository. Need more features? Then just a click away is an option to carry on with a Git Codespace providing you a full linux machine within a browser tab.

The site will grow over time with things I find useful in my daily working on websites.

This website is currently built using HTML, CSS and a form handler but this might grow into other areas over time.

But I'm a real fan of "keep it simple" if you can but I also like to try out new things.
